Supported by Sheffield West City Learning Centre, Stocksbridge High School are participating in the BBC School Report News Day 2008.
Over the past few weeks in our I.C.T lessons our class has been involved in the BBC News School Report. This is a program that has helped us all to understand different skills to do with the radio, including things like, interviewing, recording, editing, writing, and much more.
It's 13.03.08 and we are all working extremly hard on our school report. All the groups now know their story that they are reporting on and are writing up their scripts ready for recording. This morning we all had a class vote on which stories each group should do. We also got our school report passes and took some pictures and some video recordings of the different groups.
As the day got on it began to get harder and the pressure was on. Everyone was working hard in thier groups to get the project finished before 2 (the deadline).
Here are some quotes of how the day went from those involved in each group:
Jaydi, from the group of National News said "It has been very good and it has been different from the usual day and it has been quite challenging."
Josh, from International Group said " The day was something different and it was also a very good experience."
Kieran, from the SportsNews Group said " Today has been a big change and its alot better than doing lessons."
Joesph, from the Entertainment Group says " The day was very enjoyable and highly informative about how new productions work."
Amber , from the Local News Group said " that this experience has been really good, I have learnt alot about news production."
Ashley , from the Introduction Group says " this day has been alot more exciting than normal lessons and I have found out that I'm a good camera man."
Samantha from the Editing group said " Today has been a really experience for all of us and especially my group because we had to orgainse most of the photos and the website and it was very frustrating when something went wrong! But all in all it has been a very good day."
